SUMMARY:The Soul Shakedown
DESCRIPTION:Join Green Opportunities on Saturday\, May 6\, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 pm for the Second Annual Soul Shakedown by the River! \n \nCome down to the Boathouse Pavilion at 318 Riverside Drive in Asheville’s River Arts District for a soul shakin’ party. Dance to the grooves of Asheville’s own Natural Born Leaders playing a mixture of funk\, soul\, reggae\, and hip hop. There is musical performances by some of Green Opportunities’ all-star alumni\, including GO Build members 18Bird (Eric Howell)\, Doug Dew (Doug Dewberry)\, Alpha Lee (Greg Lynch)\, and Siyah (Isa Whitaker). \nThe event will feature soul food favorites from Green Opportunities’ Southside Kitchen and Guest Chef Joe Scully of Chestnut and The Corner Kitchen.  \nTickets are $25 in advance\, $30 at the door and include entertainment\, food\, and two drinks (wine or beer). All proceeds benefit Green Opportunities’ work to build a strong\, inclusive workforce for Asheville by providing job training to adults facing employment barriers. \nGreen Opportunities would like to make the Soul Shakedown accessible for GO students and low-income community members\, so please consider sponsoring an inclusivity ticket. \nTicket page and more info here.
