Story Parlor is hosting Fiesta en Casa this Saturday, September 28th. KP spoke with Carolina Quiroga about the event during this week’s News Hour.
A celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month,Fiesta en Casa is a bilingual storytelling event with music and dancing that will honor Latin American culture and people. Carolina first fell in love with storytelling when she realized it was how she could share and perform. She earned a master’s degree in storytelling in Tennessee, and began finding ways to share her stories from Colombia. She says that storytelling is magical: “[it is] the power of conveying a whole theater in your mind.”
Fiesta en Casa will also feature local multi-instrumentalist MAR, originally from Peru, playing music that celebrates his own culture. Carolina says that she will invite everyone to participate and share their own experiences in Latin and South America, what they’ve learned, and what they love.
Tickets for Fiesta en Casa can be purchased here or at the door. Listen to KP’s full interview with Carolina in the archives
Note: Since airing our interview, the event has been rescheduled for October 19th.
