In the wake of the devastation brought by Hurricane Helene to their hometown of Asheville, NC, co-hosts Gray Wheeler and DJ Erik Mattox emphasize the connections through hard times we can all gain through community, radio and community radio. They use their weekly one-hour show devoted to cover songs to play a game they call “Connections.” Gray and Erik take turns zinging cover song selections at each other, each one having to somehow be connected to the previous song. Throughout, they offer affirmation to hard-hit listeners.
