For 13 years, Slumber Party has highlighted and celebrated the community in and around Asheville, North Carolina. Our show airs once weekly for two hours, with guests rotating in at the 30 and 1 hour and 15 minute marks. Segments include conversations with local event organizers and musicians – highlighting events happening that week – and often include interactive elements and live music played in-studio. Each show features three hosts (Ali, Michele, and Jake) and our varied cast of guests, connecting authentically and empathetically and building rapport through careful questioning, listening with curiosity, and humor.
This segment features Cory Howard, founder and host of “inverted storytelling” show The Campfireball. The show is created spontaneously around contributions from the audience and held at local community hub and storytelling venue Story Parlor. This was Cory’s first time on the show, and his first Campfireball performance in Asheville after hosting them for years in L.A. He is now a regular guest, attesting to the lasting impression Slumber Party makes and its positive impact on the community. This hilarious and touching segment features a sample Campfireball prompt from Cory that the hosts participated in.
