Leah Shapiro
Leah is a writer, editor, and creative creature. After five years in magazine publishing, she switched to digital marketing in August 2016 to continue her fight for the standardization of the Oxford comma. In Asheville, she volunteers as a crisis advocate with Our VOICE's rape crisis line, as a one-on-one ESL instructor with a native Spanish speaker through the Literacy Council of Buncombe County, and a co-leader of Indivisible Asheville's Voting Rights focus group. She is also active with Planned Parenthood as a member of the Legislative Watch Team. In February 2015, she co-created a zine called Friends with PUNefits with dear friend Danny Resner and an Appundix in April 2017. With AshevilleFM, she works alongside Clark Aycock to produce the newsletter.
