Queer Calendar for week of May 7

  • It’s Thursday – and you can Join Jerri & Christopher every Thursday @6pm for country music, line dancing, and beginner 2 step! At Banks Ave Bar for Butts and Boots every Thursday* No Partner needed Also on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month
  • Saturday, May 9 is the next Rewind, A Big Gay Dance Party at Banks Ave hosted by Bearded Lady Productions. Doors at 9pm
  • Sunday, May 10. Butchout hosts the monthly Tea Dance at Banks Ave bar at 4pm
  • Monday, May 11th at 5:30pm Musical Mondays takes place at Day Trip Asheville
  • Currently happening every Wednesday from 3-6, River Arts District Farmers Market. 21 Craven Street.
  • Keep an eye out on New Belgium’s social media for the next BIPOC market (July) to shop local and support the local community.
  • Looking Ahead:
  • Friday, May 15 at Urban Orchard, Blind Date Live – Crowd Control Queer Edition returns where the audience plays match maker hosted by Cayla Clarke.7-9pm.
  • Tuesday, May 19th Take Over Tuesday, the monthly social takes place at District 42 Bar inside the Kimpton Hotel 5:30-8:30pm
  • Sunday May 31st the Beer City Bears hosts their monthly social at 4pm at Shakey’s.
  • Saturday, June 6th at 10pm at Dissolvr Modelface Comedy hosts GAGGING: A Queer Comedy Showcase. Celebrating all the aspects of queer life through laughter. You don’t have to be gay to attend the show, you just have to be cool because this show will leave you gagging! 18+ event. Doors 9:30pm // Show 10PM
  • Wednesday, June 10th. Brandi Carlisle plays at Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville.
  • Saturday, June 20 Pride on the Run 5k at Carrier Park French Broad Greenway. Join us for our 3rd annual pride 5k. Run, walk, roll, show up as you are. This event centers community, visibility, and movement. Every step supports Pride programming and local LGBTQ+ impact. What to expect: inclusive pace for all bodies, bright energy and loud pride, and community connection from start to finish. Bring your friends, flags, and your full self.   • Sunday, June 21 Summer Farmer’s Market. Explore a curated selection of local vendors, artisans, makers, and upcyclers, all showcasing handcrafted goods, unique art, and one-of-a-kind finds. This event is free to attend and family-friendly. Shop local, sip local, support local.
  • June 26-28 Haywood Pride on Main. Sponsor applications open now. When we say it takes a village, it really does. From our small businesses to our individual sponsors this weekend is funded, supported, and personal powered by folks just like you and me right here in Haywood County.
  • On June 27, 2026, AVL Stonewall Fest comes to Asheville Yards with more than a celebration—it’s a movement. A powerful, vibrant gathering of people ready to stand proud, show up boldly, and celebrate the beauty and strength of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Taking place during world-wide PRIDE month and honoring the enduring legacy of the Stonewall riots considered by many to be the beginning of the gay liberation movement this weekend of events will bring all communities together to raise our voices in unity for LGBTQ+ rights and awareness.   • July 10 – July 12, 2026 Land of the Sky Burlesque Festival. Embracing diversity and excellence, our 3 day burlesque festival is set in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains. Join us in Asheville to celebrate 5 years of showcasing the best of the best in burlesque entertainment. We curate inclusive shows, offering a blend of vibrant performances amid a backdrop of fantastic food, outdoor adventures, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. More information on the website.
  • Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 Blue Ridge Pride Festival on two dates this year! Friday will be 6 to 10 pm, an evening celebration for adults 18+. Saturday, will be from 12 to 6 pm, an afternoon of fun for all ages. Vendor applications now open on their website.
