MUSICAL GUEST: The Æther Project
For over a decade, Asheville’s The Æther Project has practiced long-form free improvisation, guided by deep listening, serious play, and utter openness to the experience of each moment. Anchored by vocalist Scott Voloshin’s stream of consciousness, this confederation of sonic explorers weaves a mycelial network of cellists, keyboardists, saxophonists, effects-laden guitarists, found sound artists, and percussionists into an ever-shifting psychedelic mélange. Although primarily a recording project, the group has made occasional live appearances at the Asheville Fringe Festival, Asheville Improv Festival, The Odd, and The Sly Grog.
