Travis Redtail & The Rituals are an Asheville-based post-folk soul-jam group building a devoted following through sold-out house shows and regional festival appearances. Their live shows collide intimate ceremony with big, badass sound—moving audiences from meditative quiet through ecstatic, full-throated wildness into collective euphoria. Built around Travis Redtail’s soaring vocals, Peter Boyles’ fiddle-colored arrangements, and Xue Lionstone’s soul-groove foundation, their Primal Southern Soul Music draws comparisons to the spiritual intensity of Porangui and the Appalachian rootedness of Rising Appalachia. They leave rooms transformed, unified, and well rocked.
Travis Redtail’s soaring vocals and soulful songwriting are birthed from decades of Native American singing, classical Indian Kirtan prayer, and a whole lot of rock’n’roll. For Travis, music is medicine for a disconnected world — it brings us back to ourselves, to our tribe, and to Mother Earth.
-Forged in the pow-wow circles of Georgia from age ten, he went on to lead thousands in chant at Boy Scout camp, study Kirtan across India and Brazil, and landed in Appalachia, where his campfire rituals and community-singing album Songs of the Brave gained him a global following.
– With The Rituals, he builds each concert as a ceremony — giving the audience permission to sing their guts out, dance their prayers, and unleash their wild, primal selves.
