In June 1970, the first American rock band to perform behind the Iron Curtain, was a tour sponsored by the U.S. State Department. Like much of the youth in America, Blood, Sweat and Tears had been outspoken and critical of the Nixon administration. Upon their return, they became victims of the culture wars in a polarized America. The band found themselves in the crossfire from both the Right and the Left, suffering greatly as a result; losing support from fans, the media and recording industry. Through footage shot during the tour and interviews with band members and historians, as well as unsealing of government records, this documentary is historic! Sponsored by Asheville FM w/discussion by Asheville author and music journalist, Bill Kopp and special guest Jim Fielder, a founding member of Blood, Sweat and Tears.
