Madelyn Ilana and Josh Fox at OM Sanctuary 5.9.19

June 7, 2019 by Kaos Kitty

OM Sanctuary and Asheville FM partner to create an intimate Sanctuary Concert Series in 2019. Music to uplift the spirit and warm the soul will be presented 2nd Thursday evenings monthly, from 7:30-9:00pm, on the Sanctuary Pavilion stage located in the Multipurpose room at OM.

Experience an intriguing array of local Asheville talent offering an assortment of musical approaches, from atmospheric electronica to Appalachian folk to singer-songwriter to Kirtan. Musical groups have been hand selected to blend with the beauty and harmony of the Sanctuary nestled next to the Serenity Garden and Waterfall, creating a seamless environment conducive to relaxation and evocative of mystery.

5/9/19 Featuring Musical Guests: Madelyn Ilana & Josh Fox

Madelyn Ilana is an Asheville based singer/songwriter, violinist, music teacher, energetic herbalist, and practitioner of Body Dialogue ™ , a unique form of somatic education synthesizing the Alexander Technique, Breathing Coordination, and the embodied Jung-inspired work of BodySoul Rhythms.
With a deep connection to earth and to her body, Madelyn writes music inspired by nature (both inner and outer). As a contemplative, sensitive, emotive songwriter, Madelyn shares music inspired by states of meditation, daydreaming, sit-spots in nature, and love. With a creative range including dreamy vocals and songwriting, eco-feminist hip hop, spoken word poetry, and looped ambient violin tracks, Madelyn hopes to share music as a way of connecting us all to our deepest selves, one another, and the life all around us.

Josh Fox has built a life around the healing powers of plants, people, and community. He weaves herbs, song, and acupuncture into his private healing practice, and writes music that uplifts the heart, honors his plant allies, and tickles the human spirit. With the same gentle, grounded nature he receives patients, he regularly holds group ceremony space around grief, heart-healing, and song-sharing.
