The AFM Spring Fund Drive is Here!

Beginning on Friday, April 17th, Asheville FM will host the 2026 Spring Fund Drive. The drive, lasting through end of day on Friday April 24th, will feature daily outside activities including live music on Saturday, the 18th and Sunday the 19th, from Noon until 5:30 p.m.

Raffles, station tours, merchandise and much more will be featured throughout the week in front of the station. Come out and meet our volunteers and, if you are able, make a donation to support the community work and never-ending music played by our volunteer DJs!

  • Friday, April 3 Asheville Drag Bingo: Over the Rainbow Fundraiser for Hendersonville Pride at the Hilltop Event Center at 7 pm. Asheville’s original and longest-running Drag Bingo show returns with a vibrant night of laughter and lucky numbers. Tickets start at $20, which includes bingo cards, and are available now at BeardedLadyProductions.org. Ages 21+.
  • Sunday April 5th, Asheville Trans Womens Picnic is hosting a picnic and clothing swap! Bring clothes you dont use anymore and share them with others who might enjoy wearing them.   • Drag performer and finalist on Season 3 of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, Dragula: Resurrection, and Dragula Titans 2! Priscilla Chambers is the host and creator of Party Foul, a drag show that lights up the Odditorium stage every Saturday night.   • Sunday April 12 it’s Sunday Funday Tea Dance at Banks Ave Bar. Our monthly Sunday Tea Dance welcominy spring with the event benefiting the great work of Pride on Main-Haywood County’s Pride festival.   • Saturday, April 18 from 11 am to 2 pm. Drag brunch fundraiser for Youth OUTright at Banks Ave. The brunch that slays together, stays together! The award-winning Asheville Drag brunch is back with another spectacular Saturday brunch. Shows are at 11 am and 1 pm.   • Saturday, May 30 Mark your calendars for LEAF Love at Pisgah Brewing Company for a day of Deep Roots. Pisgah opened their doors to LEAF back in 2024 when they had to cancel the festival because of Hurricane HElene and they had a magical day of community and they can’t wait to do it again. This event will support LEAF’s mission to continue bringing Cultural Arts Education to schools and the community. Line Up announcements coming soon.   • Saturday, June 20 Pride on the Run 5k at Carrier Park French Broad Greenway. Join us for our 3rd annual pride 5k. Run, walk, roll, show up as you are. This event centers community, visibility, and movement. Every step supports Pride programming and local LGBTQ+ impact. What to expect: inclusive pace for all bodies, bright energy and loud pride, and community connection from start to finish. Bring your friends, flags, and your full self.   • June 27, 4-9pm The community has been asking for a Pride event in the month of June on the anniversary of the Stonewall riots. And Asheville Pride Fest is answering that call. Through the annual June Pride Fest event and ongoing collaborative partnerships with organizations and businesses across Asheville. Asheville Pride Fest welcomes local Product vendors, artist vendors, food trucks, entertainment performance, nonprofit organizations and volunteers to help make our annual LGBTQ+ June Pride celebration unforgettable.   • July 10 – July 12, 2026 Land of the Sky Burlesque Festival. Embracing diversity and excellence, our 3 day burlesque festival is set in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains.   • Saturday, January 31 LGBTQ+ Women Meetup with live Play4kay Basketball Game Viewing at 2 pm at Kimmel Arena on UNCA’s campus. Join Q-Hall for a community meetup and section takeover at the Play4Kay women’s college basketball at UNC Asheville. This is a low-pressure, come-as-you-are gathering focused on showing up for women’s sports, women’s health, and local teams in an LGBTQ+ affirming space.

  • Sunday, Feb 8th Asheville Yoga begins a 6 week Queer Yoga Journey. A bold, empowering series for queer and trans bodies to reclaim presence, pleasure, and power through Yoga. A sacred space for queer souls to return home -to body, to breath, to truth. Each week, move with intention, unraveling old stories, and awakening strength. Each week,the session will weave music with movement as you explore the Asanas of Liberation: at Asheville Yoga
  • Ritual Movement Presents: The Moon Dance, on Sunday, February 8th, an ecstatic dance dedicated to the Moon tarot card. Doors open at 7:30, opening circle begins at 7:45. Bring comfy clothes, water,  and an item for the altar that connects you to the moon card.

  • Friday, February 13 Come do laps around the dance floor at DayTrip starting at 10 pm. $5 at the door. Music, drag, and food. Music by DJ Tamagotchi and DJ Good Sweat. Drag by Dix West and Reptilian Anderson, and Food by Hail Mary.
  • Also Friday, Feb. 13th The Stoned Witch Presents: Lacefronts of Love, a Fundraiser for WNCAP. At the Odd at 7pm doors, with show at 8pm. Hosted by local drag entertainers Nova and Atlas.
  • Sunday Feb 15th Downtown Asheville will burst into color, rhythm, and revelry as the Mardi Gras Parade rolls through the South Slope beginning promptly at 3:05 p.m. When the last float passes, the party continues with “The Queen’s Ball,” the official after-party held immediately following the parade at the Wicked Weed Funkatorium. Guests can expect music, dancing, and royal-worthy festivities to close out the day in true Mardi Gras fashion.
  • On Sunday Feb. 15th Join Butchout Productions for their annual Mardi Gras Sunday Tea Dance at Banks Ave bar from 4-7pm. An annual tradition DJ Dan is spinning and donations to the River Arts District.
  • Saturday February 21 and Sunday February 22: Celebrate Lunar New Year at your local brewery, Highland Brewery, off Old Charlotte Highway. Welcome the Year of the Fire Horse: featuring special beer releases, family-friendly activities, dragon dances, local food trucks, and more. Tickets are on sale now. Our favorite Queer Chef, J Chong is also serving up a special Dim Sum for the weekend.

  • Saturday, February 21 February Sapphic Tea Dance from 3 to 6 pm at Banks Ave. Since our first two tea dances were a smashing success, we’re getting ready for our third joyful gathering of Sapphic women to meet, connect, and dance at The Bottom (basement of Banks Ave bar). Entrance fee: $10. This month, all profits will go to Pisgah Legal Services.
  • Queens of comedy take center stage at Katarina’s Saturday Cabaret Drag Brunch on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Banks Ave. Bar. with shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. This drag brunch leans hard into comedy, delivering sharp punchlines and eight laugh-out-loud performances from Asheville’s funniest queens.   • Drag performer and finalist on Season 3 of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, Dragula: Resurrection, and Dragula Titans 2! Priscilla Chambers is the host and creator of Party Foul, a drag show that lights up the Odditorium stage every Saturday night.   • Saturday, May 30 Mark your calendars for LEAF Love at Pisgah Brewing Company for a day of Deep Roots. Pisgah opened their doors to LEAF back in 2024 when they had to cancel the festival because of Hurricane HElene and they had a magical day of community and they can’t wait to do it again.
