Local organization Community Roots is working on a voter initiative petition to get Asheville 100% renewable by the year 2030. Scott met with Community Roots canvasser Gerry to talk about the petition.
On February 1st, Sunshine Pugh, a student from Odyssey School, is hosting an event with a group of classmates to promote body positivity through the use of art and recycled clothing. News Team correspondent Scott Owen met with Sunshine to discuss the event.

This week Asheville will be inundated by theater of the strangest kind. The 18th annual Asheville Fringe Arts Festival kicks off this week boasting around 50 shows through the week at 16 venues in town – the festival also provides pop up performances and artistic creativity that is very non-traditional. Fringe Fest board member Jen Murphy joined us last week to discuss what makes this festival so unique.
