Queer Calendar for week of March 1st

  • It’s the First Friday of the Month so it’s Talent Search at o’Henry’s with Lethia Dose Sign-ups between 8 and 10 pm.  Drawing numbers at 10:15 pm Show starts at midnight. The Winner is chosen by audience applause and receives a cash prize and host the next month’s talent search.
  • THIS FRIDAY, is Broadsway! A One WoMAN Drag Queen Musical Revue, set to captivate audiences on Friday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m. This glamorous fundraiser event for Healing Solutions Counseling will take place at the chic pleb Urban Winery, promising an unforgettable evening filled with entertainment and laughter.   • Blue Ridge Pride in partnership with Bill Kaelin Marketing, Grail Moviehouse, present’s their new quarterly Queer film series for Asheville! And this coming Monday, March 4th at 7pm is the 2nd film in the series: BUT I’M A CHEERLEADER Each film benefits a different organization serving the LGBTQIA+ community, and this one will benefit YouthOUTright WNC
  • Every Tuesday it’s Trivia with a drag queen at Avl Beauty academy at 8pm, followed by karaoke at 10pm.

  • On Thursday, April 25th, the Western North Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP) will host the annual Dining Out For Life event. Partnering again with the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association (AIR), Dining Out For Life 2024 will encourage residents of Asheville and Western North Carolina to eat out at Participating Restaurants. This celebration supports both the local restaurants that host the events and raises money for WNCAP’s life-saving services. Now in its 22nd year, Dining Out for Life has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The money raised by WNCAP’s annual Dining Out for Life is more critical than ever. Your donations provide care, rental assistance, and education in our fight against HIV/AIDS. Dine Out. End HIV!

After the screening will be an LGBTQIA+ focused community discussion facilitated by Gary Ross-Reynolds and Mountaine Jonas, which will wrap up around 5 PM.
