First Radio Show

July 13, 2025 by Blake

Hello! My name is Blake and I am very honored and thrilled to become a regular DJ on Asheville FM! The Gilded Cauldron is a free form radio show, meaning you will hear a variety of genres. You will always hear international music, especially Indian or Indian inspired songs. You will also hear folk, classic country, avant-garde, jazz, blues, and more!

Aside from training and substituting for other DJs, this will be my first time officially having a radio show and I am beyond excited! I hope you find something that interests you, catalyzes creativity, or allows you to bask in something familiar. I play mostly records from my collection, though sometimes I will use other formats as well. I tend to focus on music that is acoustic, strange, traditional, and/or music from outside of the U.S., but you will hear a variety of music that I consider great.

A Better World Book Fair

First you’ll hear Beet and Mad Dog, two anarchists organizing the upcoming A Better World Bookfair in Waynesboro, VA on Saturday, July 26th. We talk about the bookfair and taking space in rural locales as leftists and strengthening our bonds amidst the rise of the right under Trump 2.0.
