Prisoners for Palestine Hunger Strike

Collective members of Prisoners for Palestine (PrisonersForPalestine.Org), a prisoner-led collective in Britain representing all those detained under charges related to Palestinian liberation, have entered their fourth week of their hunger strike as of the day of this podcast, with participation of Qesser, Amu, Heba, Jon, T, and Kamran. This week, the first of the Filton 24 trials began as well. From a press release of the collective’s website:

While suffering physically due to the effects of the hunger-strike, the six prisoners currently taking part in the protest remain strong, defiant, and committed to winning their six demands:

  1. An end to the censorship of letters and books, and freedom of expression.
  2. Immediate bail.
  3. The right to a fair trial.
  4. The deproscription of Palestine Action.
  5. The closure of all Elbit weapons factories in Britain.

We hope to conduct an interview soon with members of the Prisoners for Palestine on the proscription of Palestine Action, Elbit Systems, the conditions of confinement case and the hunger strikes.

We speak about the case and about the wider web of repression being pushed by the Trump administration in the name of battling ANTEEFAH. For more info, check out nlg.org

Then we’ll speak to two members of the DFW Defendants Support Committee following the announcement last Wednesday by the committee concerning pressure on the defendants to take plea deals and some updated perspective on the case. MUSICAL GUEST:  Scenic Radio

“The music and soundscape of Scenic Radio are built around the songwriting and harmonies of twin brothers, Adam and Jonathan Clayton, with the addition of honorary brother Phil Brock. The sound takes a life of its own, helmed by everyone’s willingness to progress with the vibe of the song.

Scenic Radio takes a multi-instrumental approach to live shows and songwriting, allowing for a fluid switch between instruments and singers. This adds depth and dynamic to the sound. The group blends rock, jazz, gospel, country, and bluegrass with both acoustic and electric instruments, capped off with unique vocal harmonies.

The goal is to raise the roof and give each note and song all they have. The band looks ahead and continues progressing as musicians and writers, working daily on their songs and sound. This dedication has become the new normal while pushing to bring our best as artists and as local folks in the community.”
