Music To Your Ears: Band On the Run 50th Anniversary

This Wednesday, December 6th and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Paul McCartney and Wings’ iconic Band on the Run album, Bill Kopp’s music discussion series,Music to Your Ears takes an opportunity to explore this groundbreaking and massively successful album, one that helped get McCartney’s career back on track, setting him up for the globetrotting Wings Over The World Tour just a year and a half later.

Joined by special co-host and Asheville FM DJ Erik Mattox, Bill Kopp will discuss the importance of the album in the history of Beatles’ lore. The evening is the latest installment of the popular Music to Your Ears discussion series, hosted by Asheville Guitar Bar and sponsored by 103.3 Asheville FM. Admission is $10 per person. Doors open at 6:30 and the presentation begins at 7 PM.

Real People, Great Radio, Vol 2 is here!

It’s here! It’s here! We are SO EXCITED to announce the release of our second annual fundraiser compilation, “Real People, Great Radio Vol 2,” this year in collaboration with Citizen Vinyl! Ten artists/bands spanning a wide variety of genres, curated by our Music Department and the folks at Citizen Vinyl, cover art by our own Devyn Marzuola, mastered at Drop of Sun Studios, it’s a wonderful community effort and sounds just as awesome as it looks!

We’re hosting a Release Party at Citizen Vinyl on Thursday, December 14, so mark your calendars! Pre-order for vinyl and digital are available on Bandcamp now, but don’t forget that Bandcamp Friday is coming up this week, which means ALL that money comes to your favorite radio station! Stay tuned for artist features RIGHT HERE over the next few weeks. LPs will also be available at fine local record retailers after the Release Party.

All proceeds from the fundraiser help keep AshevilleFM on the air and support our mission to keep the “community” in non-profit, volunteer-run community radio.
